“The way the orange blends into the yellow, creating that slight gold effect, is simply magnificent.”
APPEARANCE,
Mitzi is a tall, thin girl, being 5'6" and only weighing 121 lbs. She has chocolate brown eyes that have a tendency to express exactly what she is feeling, even when she doesn't want them to. Her dark brown/caramel colored hair comes down to the bottom of her shoulder blades, but the waviness of it makes it look shorter. She likes to keep it layered towards the end and has it trimmed every two weeks. She usually wears jeans and loose fitting t-shirts with a zip up jacket with brown Puma speed cat shoes, though she buys them in men's because she can't find the brown in women's sizes. She doesn't wear any jewelry or accessories, but she does have a black leather fanny pack that doubles as a belt, fitting perfectly through the loops of her jeans. The bag portion rest comfortably against her left hip and carries all her pens, pencils, colored pencils, etc., a.k.a her drawing supplies.
“Don’t patronize me.”
PERSONALITY,
If she didn't have to speak, no one would know Mitzi was there. She is very quiet and keeps mostly to herself, talking to others when addressed. She is very intelligent, being school and street smart; one tends to learn more when they hardly ever speak. She's a total bookworm, constantly reading books about the world and different cultures, always wanting to learn more. If someone actually needs her for something, she can be found in the art room, working on her latest painting. She is very artistic and can create a beautiful work of art in just about every medium. Once people get to know her, she can be very sweet and kind, happy to have company for just a short while.
Unfortunately for her, she is constantly picked on by jocks and popular kids. But it isn't for being a Freak, something she tries to keep on the down low. She was born what a cruel person would call a half-breed; half German/white, half Hispanic. She is very sensitive about the subject and almost always never faces her tormentors. She doesn't have the strength or courage to do it. Being born only half Aria, she was lucky and only received one of the side effects, except for the fact that whenever she sneezes, she can send books and papers toppling over the sides of desks.
"I’d rather hang out in the closet, drawing in the dark."
BACKGROUND,
Mitzi was born on a warm summer night in July to a very loving family, although it didn't last long. Her mother died from birth complications, and her father couldn't bare to look at the daughter that resembled her mother so much. He left her at an orphanage and left for his homeland of Germany, never once looking back. She grew up with a bunch of other children, most older than her and a few younger, and she never felt the bond that true siblings would share. Someone was always coming in and adopting one or two of them, but never even glanced at her. This is when she started closing herself off from everyone, never knowing who was going to leave her.
She did grow close to one girl who ended up being like a sister to her. They did everything together, and Mara was the only one who knew about her powers, which didn't start developing until she was five. She was always protecting Mitzi until she was adopted by a nice family a year after they grew close. She completely shut down after that, not bothering speaking at all. Eventually, everyone got the point that she wasn't going to open up to anyone and just left her alone. It was around her tenth birthday when she discovered that she loved art. One of the presents she received from the orphanage owner was an art kit filled with everything an art lover could want. She started speaking again shortly after, but completely devoted herself to her art.
Mitzi still lives in the orphanage, and she is the oldest one, no one wanting to adopt an older girl. She tends to look after the younger children in the house, making sure they learn everything they are supposed to before they start school and doing things a mother would usually do. The owner of the orphanage is getting up there in age, and she can't do everything as fast as she used to. Unfortunately, it puts a heavy burden on Mitzi, since not only does she help around the orphanage, but she also has her studies to think about.
